I love this little lady. She's another of the LHN 2010 Ornaments. Along with the burgundy beads around the wreath, I also added some pretty yellow ones along the vine on the left. She was a quick stitch that I enjoyed very much.

Let's Do The Peppermint Twist!

This is another of the LHN 2010 Ornament charts called "Peppermint Twist." It's so cute! I got the button in the mail yesterday and was a little perplexed to see it didn't have any button holes. So, I had to attach it at the crook with thread. I just hope it holds up well.

I've got a couple more finishes to post as well in the next few days. Needle is smokin'!!!

Christmas in July

I wanted to do an ornament to celebrate Christmas in July, so I chose this one by La D Da in the 2010 JCS Christmas Ornament issue entitled " 'Tis Red." I used VC silk in Baneberry Bright and I absolutely LOVE the colors!

I've finished another of the 2010 LHN Ornaments and I'm waiting on the button I ordered before I post the pic. I've been stitching up a storm lately, and loving every minute!

Winter Sheep And Bunny Egg

These are my latest finishes. This is "Bunny Egg Mini" by Waxing Moon. The fabric is a very pretty hand-dyed purple evenweave, and although it was rough stitching on it because the holes were so tight, the finished product is well worth it. LOVE how it turned out!

And this is the 4th 2010 LHN Ornament I've done so far. "Winter Sheep" Love the red bird button...

I've picked up Inspiration again and am working on it once more. I'm determined to finish it if it kills me! LOL Happy stitching, everyone!

OK, so I'm not the best singer...LOL

This is LHN's "Pear Tree" ornament from the 2010 series. Miss Linda gifted me the pattern from my Wish List at TS, and I just lell in fluv with it!

I changed it up a bit and made the "P" and "T" the same color as the rest of the alphabet, as opposed to the green that was charted. I also did an "O" instead of the little pear. I absolutely love the yellow beads.

My plan is to finish all 12 in the set and make them into pillow ornaments and put them in a basket. So pretty!

I had Miss Brenda's name for the Spring Freebie Exchange at TS and I chose to stitch and finish this cutie for her...

I used Vicki Clayton silks and stitched it over one so that it would be small enough for a floss tag. This is my first attempt at finishing one of these, and I did enjoy it although I need a lot more practice. Miss Brenda says she likes it, so that makes me happy. I also made her a scissor fob with a froggy charm to help ward off the "real" frog! :)

A very dear friend of mine gifted me this chart and I absolutely love it. I'm stitching on a piece of fabric called "Phoenix." I love the look of white on red. (Pay no attention to the wrinkles. It IS a WIP after all...lol)

I'm getting back into the swing of things as far as my stitching is concerned. I've always called it "my therapy," and lately that's just what it is.

I just found out today that Kathy Barrick of Carriage House Samplings is retiring from designing! Such sad news! I own several of her designs but there are so many more I "need!" No more Hawk Run Hollow designs....what to do? It's a sad day in my world. :(

I had to order another skein of WDW Dove to finish the leaves on the bottom row of flowers on Poinsettias and Pines, so I'll post a picture of the finish soon. Love the way it turned out. I've been plugging away on Inspiration, and have finished sections 4-7 and have a lot of section 8 done. All the confetti stitches and color changes are tedious, but the look is amazing. I may get it finished this year...lol

It's been SO long since I browsed for any new stash. I need a skein of WDW to finish my Poinsettias and Pine and got to looking at some of the "new to me" stuff. OMGoodness, I'm in LOVE with this one by Stickideen von der Wiehenburg...

Isn't it gorgeous? This is a definite gotta have!

Somehow or another I got "roped" into stitching another Mother's Tree for my MIL's sister. I'm very glad I kept the chart that I made with MIL's names. Not sure which colors I'm going to use yet, but I'm thinking something goldish. :)

Find Comfort

Such a great way to describe my love for this hobby. Very comforting. This is my latest Blue Ribbon ornament, and the first that has "2010." Again I apologize for the picture quality. Can't wait to get my new camera! lol

I'm still very much in love with these little beauties, and I have so many more I want to stitch. All the holidays, especially the Valentine ones.

Poinsettias and Pines is coming along nicely. Progress picture will come soon.

Salem Sisters

What a great week it's been to stitch. The rain has made me feel like hibernating with my needle and thread and never-ending forensic shows! lol I've gotten a lot done on Poinsettias and Pine. It's a lot of fun to stitch and so far I've managed to avoid any frogging (knock wood). Amazing what you can do when you take your time and enjoy each "x." :)

I wanted to show off my "Salem Sisters" by Plum Street Samplers. Can you find 13 Stars and a Witch's Face in the design?

It's stitched on 32ct mystery fabric with WDW Mascara, Mulberry, and Tiger's Eye. You can't really see the purple for the lettering in the picture, but it's very pretty. This one was a joy to stitch, too, and my first project after the long vacation I took from stitching.

Back In The Saddle!

I took quite a break from stitching and to be honest I was afraid I'd never pick it up again. But, I think this hobby is like a long lost friend when you've been away from it for a time. It always welcomes you back with open arms, no matter what.

I finished Salem Sisters and will post a picture of it later, along with another Blue Ribbon ornament. Right now, I'm working on Blue Ribbon Designs "Poinsettias and Pine" which is one of those to-die-for charts that I fell in love with the second I laid eyes on it. I kinda made my own conversion of the colors using VC Silks and WDW, and here it is so far...

It's on 40ct white linen, one over two. The picture isn't the best because I managed to lose my digital camera in the move, so I had to use my phone.

Look forward to posting more in the coming days, and I have to say it's great to be back!!!

Ever get in a stitching funk and just don't pick up your needle for a week or so? I'm so there! But I am stitching this weekend if it kills me! LOL Gotta do a biscornu for an Exchange, so that's great motivation to get back in the swing.

In the meantime, I don't think I shared my "Peace" ornament that I stitched the end of last year. It's the Rosewood Manor design from the 2008 JCS Ornament Issue. I love the original colors they used, but I wanted to make mine traditional red & green.

I used one strand of green DMC and one strand of green metallic, so it really sparkles. Not sure how I'll finish it, but I really like how it turned out.

Remember that cute little model I recently finished for VeeandCo? Just look how Vee finished it for me!!!

Isn't it adorable? I was just thrilled to find it in my mailbox yesterday. Now, with these cute little robins at my house, Spring has no choice but to show up and melt away all these winter blues!

Fall Finished!

Last Fall I stitched this piece for Vee at VeeandCo and she finished it into the most beautiful wall hanging for me. Fall is my favorite season, so I can't wait to add this to my decor this year. Aren't the buttons and fabric choice perfect???

Today is the first day of a Stitch-a-Thon at Tranquil Stitches, so I'm planning to work on ornament #3 at lunch and this evening during Idol. My goal is to finish this one up this week and start on my very first Biscornu for an exchange.

Spooky Tree

I planted a spooky tree to start my Me, Myself, & I Halloween Town round robin. The SAL started on December 31st, and I joined in by stitching this Judith Kirby #9 tree on a piece of Silkweaver Solo that I dunked in coffee to "spook" it up...

I love the how the fabric turned out, and it smells pretty good when I stitch on it, too! :) I hope to get at least one house built this month.

IT'S DONE! IT'S DONE!

After 2 1/2 YEARS of stitching, my Houses of Hawk Run Hollow is FINISHED! Happy Dancin'!!!

This is the last square (I worked backwards) that I just finished last night. I moved A. Bailey's name down because I wanted her on there somewhere, and put my name at the top. I love how the two lines rhyme...

I haven't washed and pressed it yet. Just too excited to post! But here she is, my pride and joy...

It's stitched two over two on Vintage Country Grain Belfast with DMC. It measures a whopping 23" wide by 17 1/2" tall.

This WIP has seen lots of happy days, sad days, and has been my therapy on days that just weren't so nice. I've enjoyed every single stitch, and hopefully it will be something that my children will cherish once I'm "dead and in my grave." (I know, it's morbid, but I love it! LOL) I'll post it again after it's framed.

I can almost taste it! I'm on the LAST BLOCK of my Houses of Hawk Run Hollow WIP. I did a bit of redesigning and put Ms. Bailey's name at the bottom and my name will go at the top...

There's a LOT of stitching in this last house, so it's taking me a while to get it done. Every little stitch counts, though!

I found the neatest Printer's Tray at an antique shop here in town. I just fell in love with the ones finished on this Blog and had to have one!

I've started round two of the Blue Ribbon Design ornaments. Last year I stitched 3 sets of Christmas Sentiments Volume I, and this is the first of Volume II. I'm using DMC on Vintage Country Grain Belfast...my absolute favorite fabric...

I finished two of them in January, and hope to get at least two more done by the end of this month. They're a quick stitch, and I just love the over one parts.

Tinsel Tangled?

Stitching Away

You wouldn't know it by the looks of my Blog lately, but I've been stitching away and have accomplished quite a bit so far this month.

I've started and finished my 1st spooky tree on my Halloween Me, Myself, & I Round Robin piece. I used the tree from Judith Kirby's House #9. The fabric I chose was originally a bluish Solo from Silkweavers that I coffee-dyed to make it a little more dreary and spooky. I like the way it's looking so far.

I also started and finished my first Blue Ribbon Designs Ornament for the year.

The small border above the motifs on Double Dutch is also complete now.

When I am officially back online I'll have pictures to share. I sure miss blogging my progress pictures every day!

Friday Night Stitch Night!

Going to Lynne's tonight for a Friday night Stitch & Sleepover. She's been taking a class on Friday nights which has ended now, so hopefully we can resume our regularly scheduled weekly programming. LOL I'm looking forward to it. I can also upload some pictures on her computer while I'm there, and have some to show next week of what I've been doing!

Now, if you were a pair of Mag-Eyes, where would you hide? I can't find mine ANYWHERE. I lost them once before, found them, and now they're gone again. I'm beginning to think I need to put a bell on them!

I started my Halloween Village for the Me, Myself, & I Round Robin last night, so I'm right on schedule with what I want to do this year. It's a good way to start! My other goals are:

1) Finish HOHRH
2) Finish Double Dutch
3) Continue Work on Inspiration
4) Stitch an Ornament A Month
5) Start Poinsettias & Pines
6) Join at least 6 TS Stitching Exchanges

Looking Back On 2008

Another year comes to an end in a few hours. It is so hard to believe that it's been an entire year since I made my last Stitching Resolutions. Back on January 1st, 2008, these were my hopes for the year:

Finish HOHRH
Finish Double Dutch Sampler
Stitch An Ornament A Month
Start A LHN Houses Collage

Today, I can say I'm very pleased with where I am on the list...

I have one more square to go on HOHRH.
I've completed the center of Double Dutch and have started on the border.
I actually stitched 18 ornaments.
I like my TS Neighborhood RR much better than any collage I could have done.

I also:
Finished 6 Stitching Exchanges at TS.
Stitched 4 Houses on other TS Neighborhood RR's.
Stitched 2 Models for VeeandCo.
AND Stitched 4 "Just Because" Projects.

It's been a great stitching year for me. This hobby is more than just needlework. It's my therapy. I really don't know what I'd have done without my stress reliever!

I'm looking forward to another wonderful year ahead with lots of new projects, finishing up some older ones, and the occasional stash shopping excursion.

My Round Robin Is Home!

My Tranquil Stitches Neighborhood Round Robin is HOME! And just look what a beautiful job the gals did stitching on my piece...

Missy was nice enough to post a picture of it so I could snag it and show you.

Each one of the ladies stitched a different colored leaf on the tree, too, which totally rocks! I'm not sure exactly how I'll finish it up, but I'm so pleased with it. Thanks to Missy, Eva, Jorja, and JoAnn for adding such wonderful houses to my Neighborhood!

I love making scissor fobs. They're so prissy and practical at the same time. I'd have to say that out of the 100's I've made so far, this dragonfly is one of my favorites...

A lady at the 123 Stitch Message Board was having a contest to name her new Webkinz dragon, and I suggested "Sabrina" for a girl and "Sebastian" for a boy. She chose Sabrina! So, I won a $20 gift certificate. I never win anything, so this was especially nice. What to choose, what to choose...

I've been stitching away on House #11. All the bricks were a challenge, but they're done and now I'm working on the roof. I'm so close I can taste it!

Six of Six Is Done

Of a new magazine! I finally located the JCS Ornament Issue at my local Barnes & Noble and I see what all the fuss is about. Definitely the best one, IMO. It was hard to decide, but my favorite ornament of them all has to be Rosewood Manor's "Peace."

I finished up the house and windows on my square last night. Just have the roof to go. I'm also going to add a few flowers around the yard, and maybe follow Missy's lead and add some little bluebirds. I'm really enjoying my first RR experience. I received Eva's beautiful RR piece in the mail and have gotten a start on my house for her. I love the color of the fabric she chose. Missy did CHN's "The Needlework Shop" for her square, so I think my choice will work nicely. Didn't she do a beautiful job?

Another Halloween Addition

Carol sent me a link to this design thinking I'd like it for my Halloween Neighborhood MM&I Round Robin. Does she know me or WHAT? Isn't it cool?

It's "Witch Hollow Tree Houses" by The Gathering Place. I'm thinking I like the one with the orange roof better, but I'll have to see the chart close up to decide which one to use. I LOVE the Jack-o-lanterns hanging in the trees. And the rat!

I've stitched the orange bricks on the right side of House #11. The picture on the chart really doesn't do this piece justice because the colors are so much more vibrant.

I also started Six of Six at work, which will be my lunchtime project until it's finished. I like stitching at lunch. It's a little bit of Heaven in a hectic day. :)

A Wonderful Gift!

I received the sweetest gift from my friend Carol. It was one of those "just because" gifts that really just makes your day. I am over the moon!

I've wanted these since I first saw them, and I can't wait to make the perfect fob. These will always be so special to me. Thank you so much, my sweet friend!

I stitched more on House #11 last night. And I found the piece of fabric I had cut for the last BR ornament which I had misplaced, so I'm ready to get that done, too. I'm asking Santa for more stitching time this Christmas...

Branching Out

Lynne and I had a great visit last night. After dinner at Captain D's, we hit Barnes & Noble and Books-a-Million looking for the JCS Ornament Issue. No dice. The guy at B&N did say they'll get a magazine shipment in on Monday, so our hopes are high!

I finished up the border to House #11 and got started on the tree on the right...

I should have Eva's Neighborhood RR next week, so I'm anxious to get working on that as well.

I'm determined to find stitching time during my upcoming move . How else am I going to stay sane??? LOL

It's Stitch Night, and I'll be going to Lynne's this week for some stitching and the usual gab fest. We never run out of things to talk about. It's amazing how either of us gets any stitching done! But we have fun, and I really look forward to our weekly visits.

I want to run by Office Max this weekend and see if I can find some of those pretty colored floss rings that lots of ladies are using with their floss tags. Not sure why I'm so enamored with those. Maybe because they're a little "instant gratification" finish?

Just LOOK at this new afghan by Wichelt...

Isn't it GORGEOUS? I've never tried an afghan, but this one may be my first. I can just imagine this hanging on my wall. Absolutely beautiful.

I started on the border of House #11 last night and got three sides done. I really hope I can get the other 2 blocks stitched before year end. We'll see!

Treats From Rachael

I received the most FABULOUS Halloween treats from Rachael for the Tranquil Stitches Halloween Tuck Bag Exchange. Just look at all the sweet things she sent me!

The tuck bag is the cutest thing. She stitched a spider web on black fabric

and attached a glow-in-the-dark spider! She sent a separate

little baggie with fun candles, stickers, and more spiders.

I'll definitely use these to decorate with this year!

Inside the bag was candy galore! Just look at all the sweets...

And as an extra bonus, she stitched the CUTEST little Halloween ornaments!

I think these are two of those designs you either really like or really don't like. Personally I think they're beautiful, but definitely wouldn't fit in my decor (as eclectic as it is). I love the way the birds and flowers are so evident once you look at them closely.

The Needlework Show starts tomorrow at 2PM EST. I always enjoy browsing to see what's new and entering for the door prizes. I've never won anything, but several of my friends have. Be sure and check it out!

I finished Five of Six over the weekend. Only one more to go and I'll have completed 3 sets! I bet y'all are getting tired of seeing these, huh?

This isn't the "actual" one. DS took the camera to a birthday party Miss M attended and FORGOT IT! But this is exactly what the one I just finished looks like.

So far I've got everything on my September Goals list done except for starting House #11 on HOHRH. I hope to get it on the 'ole Q-snap this week. Man, I wish I had some Q-snap covers 'cause that hunk of fabric is massive. Anyone know someone who does nice ones?

I For An Eye(let)

Lynne and I had a great time yesterday. After lunch at Friendly's, we went to Michael's and I found an Eyelet tool, some eyelets, and floss rings. I've admired so many pretty floss tags that I was inspired to give it a try. I'm pretty much "finishing challenged," but I'm willing to try anything once! LOL

After Michael's we headed to Walmart for dinner fixin's and a gander at the fabric department. I picked up a new glue gun, too, because the puppy ate my old one. *rolls eyes*

We checked Barne's & Noble for the new JCS Ornament Issue, but no dice. Home for a nice dinner of spaghetti and an evening of stitching. It was a great day!

Silks & Shopping

I've received my silks from the Floss-of-the-Month from Vikki at Hand-Dyed Fibers . Just look at how lucious these are this month...

They feel like butter, and the colors are SO rich. Nothing like the feel of silk!

Lynne and I are heading out to Michael's today. I need some floss in the colors I'm using for the ornaments, as well as goodies for my Halloween Treat bag. We'll probably hit Ben Franklin and the Dollar Tree, too, then we'll come back here for dinner and stitching.

I hurt my back yesterday helping to carry the kitchen cabinet upstairs, so I'm hoping I can make it through the day. It sure is NO FUN getting old!!!

I really enjoy the Stitching Community I've found through Blogging. I love seeing all the pictures of WIP's, exchanges, finishes, and the creativity shared by other stitchers on their sites. It's truly a wonderful group that I'm proud to now be a part of!

Oh, and let's not forget the enabling! I see so many beautiful things that I feel I just HAVE to have! Gee, thanks! LOL My latest drool is over these...

I worked on my Halloween tuck yesterday and now I need to find lots of goodies to stuff inside. I really like how it turned out, and it was a much quicker stitch than I anticipated. I hope my partner likes it, too!

Four of Six DONE!

I started this one Friday at lunch and finished it yesterday during football. Only 2 more to go!

Lynne and I had a great time together Friday night, and she actually stitched! Of course I don't think her mind was completely on it because she frogged the same little spot 4 times, but at least she had needle in hand after weeks of not stitching.

I hope to get a design picked out for my Halloween tuck and get it finished this week. The biggest challenge isn't going to be finding and stitching the perfect chart...it's going to be the candy actually making it INTO the tuck and into the mail! YUM! :)

It's Friday and Stitch Night!

I looked through some of my stash last night to find a Halloween design to stitch for the TS Tuck Exchange, but nothing really jumped out at me. So tonight when Lynne and I get together I'm going to start Four of Six instead. I didn't want to "settle" for a Halloween chart, so I'll look again this weekend for something to match the fabric in the pretty tuck that I have.

Carol R, Missy's RR is stitched on 28ct evenweave. I think it's Monaco, but I may be mistaken.

I keep seeing things I want to include in my Halloween Village. I just HAVE to put this witch in the air. Isn't she the coolest?

Missy's RR Is Finished

I finished Missy's house last night. She asked that we stitch a house that makes us feel comfy, and I chose "Pine Top Lodge" from LHN. I can just imagine cuddling up to a nice fire with my WIP and a cup of hot chocolate just stitching the night away here...

And here's the way it looks so far. I love the square she stitched! So appropriate for a friendship neighborhood! A skein of floss shows just how tiny the stitches are...

My TS Neighborhood RR should be in Jorja's hands tomorrow or Friday. Lynne has withdrawn from this round due to so much going on in her life right now, so she forwarded it on to the next person. I know it's hard for her to concentrate on stitching, so I totally understand.

I'm in LOVE with the new Victoria Sampler "Christmas Treasures" design. It's a definitely gotta-stitch. Such pretty things...

Got half the shingles done on Missy's house last night during MNF. Such tiny little things, and they're so cute! Over one stitching is so much fun.

I found this chart that I HAVE to have for my Neighborhood RR. Just look at that wall and gate. Is it not perfect for Halloween (with a little minor tweaking?)...

I can just see a black cat, back arched, perched on that wall. Too fun!

Finished Three of Six

I finished the third Blue Ribbon ornament yesterday...

Only 3 more to go and my set will be complete. They're such a fun stitch, too. I can almost do the alphabet now without looking at the chart. LOL

Missy's house now has a front and window panes, and will be getting a roof this week. I really like how it's looking so far. I think I need to find a few more little motifs to help fill my square which should be fun. I love mixing and matching!

Stitch Night Cancelled :(

Miss Lynne took a raincheck on our stitch night this week, so I came on home instead and after dinner and dishes sat down for some stitching and forensics. I made quite a bit of progress on Three of Six and should wrap it up tomorrow.

My TS Mini Mystery partner Shari has received her mini so I can show it now. I stitched an "S" with a little skein of DMC inside, and paired it with a fob made of beads in the same colors...

The charm on the fob says, "Life Is Measured By Moments." I also included a yummy Lindt orange dark chocolate candy bar and a couple of skeins of Cyndi hand-dyed flosses. I hope Miss Shari likes her goodies.

Friday Night Stitch Night!

Tonight is stitch night! Lynne and I are getting together at her place this week to try out her brand-spanking new banana-colored living room furniture. I was with her when she picked it out, and I'm dying to see how it looks in her space. The couch AND loveseat both have recliners on both ends, so I'm going to have fun deciding where to park to stitch!

Missy's house has a foundation on it. I built it last night during the game. I just love how over-one stitching looks. So tiny and sweet!

I've finally decided on a theme for my Me, Myself, & I Round Robin. I'm going with a Halloween Village! It's nice to finally have that decided. Now to choose a fabric...

Silkweavers Fabric of the Month!

I'm very excited that the girls at Silkweaver Fabrics have brought back the standard fabrics choice in their Fabric of the Month. I really missed getting that sweet package of surprise linen in the mail each month. There aren't as many choices as there used to be in size and count, but $30 for two fat quarters of Belfast including shipping isn't bad at all!

My house in Missy's Neighborhood now has a red door! I'm hoping to get some more done tonight after I "frog" out a piece of the foundation that's one stitch off. *rolls eyes*

This is another model I did for Vee called "Orts." She also did the frame, which is just perfect for it. I have it hanging above my stitching space...

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the border has the prettiest beads which are a combination of all the colors in the design. Very cool!

Vee has released her new Halloween designs, so I can post the model I just finished for her. Isn't it CUTE? It's called "Flying 101" and is part of her new "Witch in Training" series.

I love the kitty hanging on for dear life, and those pumpkin expressions are absolutely precious!

I got a good start on Three of Six at the Imaging office Tuesday morning, and I received Missy's RR piece yesterday and got a start on that. I managed to find my MagEyes which have been MIA for several weeks. It's a good thing because Missy's RR is over one on 28ct. These 'ole eyes ain't what they used to be!

Stitch Night

Last night Lynne and I got together for dinner and stitching. I think we both got a lot accomplished other than eating and gabbing! I started and finished my Mini Mystery Exchange piece for a friend on Tranquil Stitches. Once she receives it I'll be able to post it here. I think it turned out very pretty! I also worked on the model, and Miss Lynne got most of the gridding done on her TS Neighborhood Round Robin. I also got to give her my RR for the first leg of it's journey. Can't wait to see what she does with it!

On Thursday I received my very pretty tuck from JoAnn to stitch for my partner in our TS Halloween Exchange. Isn't it cute?

Me, Myself, And I Round Robin

Vonna had an idea for a great new SAL called Me, Myself, And I Round Robins. It's a stay-at-home Neighborhood Round Robin where we each build and stitch our own piece with no deadlines, no mailing, and no worries. The actual SAL starts on December 31st, but we can go ahead and work on our theme, placement, border, etc. I like that there are no deadlines and I can take forever to work on it if I want. I'm thinking of a Halloween theme for mine, or maybe an Autumn work like this one stitched by Kathe Lyndsley which I LOVE...

Decisions, decisions. It's going to be fun joining in on the discussions and seeing everyone's neighborhood take shape next year. My priority is the one at TS, but hopefully I can find some time to work on this one as well.

Happy mail! I got my most recent silk Floss of the Month from Vikki at Hand-Dyed Fibers and it's SO yummy!

Such brilliant colors. We're getting close to the end of the alphabet which means I'll soon have her entire line of silk floss. Talk about happy dancing!!!

I stitched for quite a while yesterday on the model. It definitely helped occupy me while I watched my Redskins get WHOOPED. :( Thank goodness it's only pre-season, but they'd better get their act in gear before the first game on September 4th!

We're heading to the County Fair today. Can't wait to see the XS Exhibits.

A Couple Years Ago...

I stitched holiday jar lids for my coworkers and filled the jar with a matching candy. They were a hit, and I'd like to do this again one year. The colored rings are hard to find, but thankfully I do have several squirreled away.

One lady still has hers on her desk! It makes you feel good when you know your stitching gifts are appreciated.

What was I saying yesterday about "hope?" I didn't stitch at all last night! I'm not saying a thing today because I don't want to jinx this evening! Ah, the best laid plans....

All Gridded Up!

I'm not sure what I'll stitch in the spaces on each side of the top square, but there's definitely room for trees and such. And I plan to stitch "Tranquil Stitches" above and "2008-2009" below the center square.

Missy has decided she'd like us to stitch over one on her piece, so I'm going to have fun going through my stash and deciding what I'd like to add to it. She's such a sweetheart and I want to find the perfect house for her.

Working on my model at lunch, and hopefully this evening. Patrick said he's doing dinner tonight, so after I get the dishes done I hope to sit and stitch. Hope is a strong word! LOL

Birthday Needleroll

Along with my fabulous stitching bag, my BFF Diana gave me this beautiful needleroll that she stitched just for me. I absolutely adore it...

One day I'll have a pretty basket filled with needlerolls just to admire. Hopefully Miss Diana will agree to make them all for me because she does a beautiful job. We'll see....lol

Got a great start on the VeeandCo model last night. I'm having to get used to evenweave again because it's really not my fabric of choice, but this piece is gorgeous which makes it easier. I can't wait 'til you guys see the new design (tease, tease)!!!

Isn't it cute? I really enjoyed stitching it up for her. I have enough of the fabric left to do the other 3 seasons, too, so they're on that ever-growing "To Do" list.

I finished up the gridding of my TS Neighborhood RR this weekend. Tonight I'm starting on another model for Vee that she needs by the end of the month, so I gotta cook on that!

Center Of My Neighborhood...

I finished the center of my TS Neighborhood Round Robin. I used a portion of the LHN Neighborhood and rearranged it a bit...

I still need to grid out the squares for the girls to stitch in, but I've already got it laid out on paper so hopefully it won't take too long. This is my first Round Robin and I'm very excited! (It looks like it's off-center, but it's not really.)

I agreed today to stitch a model for VeeandCo, so that's what I plan to do next. It's SO cute!!!

Miss Lynne didn't stitch a stitch on Friday night. I think we need an intervention!

Stitch Night At Lynne's

I've got some motivating to do. After work, Lynne and I are meeting for dinner, then going back to her place for some stitching. She hasn't picked up a needle since the last time we stitched together, so she needs some inspiration. Or a swift kick in the rear! Either way, she'll stitch tonight...guaranteed!

Last night I worked on my TS Neighborhood Round Robin. I got the tree finished for the middle section. Underneath the tree I'll stitch a gal in an apron, a rooster, and a squirrel. Then I'll block off where I'd like the other girls to stitch their houses.

I think after I finish my RR, I'm going to start Three of Six. I really want to get those done and get them to Lola to finish before Christmas.

I did find another WIP that has turned into a UFO. This is Drawn Thread's "Spot of Spring" and "Spot of Summer."

I need to find a good conversion from the Weeks that the chart calls for to DMC so I can get Autumn and Winter stitched.

Finished Two of Six

I finished my third and final "Give Encouragement" Blue Ribbon ornament over the weekend. Two down, four more to go. This is actually the first one I did, but the one I just finished is remarkably similar. LOL I used more gold to replace the pink that the chart called for. Definitely more my style...

I also started my center for our TS Neighborhood Round Robin. I'm using a tree from the LHN "Neighborhood" with a lady, a squirrel, and a rooster under it. Talk about me in a nutshell! Then I asked the girls to stitch any house they'd like that makes them feel "cozy." I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Mother's Tree

Well, it's more of a Mother-In-Law's Tree. I did this for her as a Christmas gift, and it actually brought her to tears! I was able to find a website owned by a member of her family who had traced her ancestry back to the early 1800's. And since she had no daughters of her own, I replaced "mother of" with "mother in law of" and added my name, then continued with my daughter.

It's stitched one over one with Vikki Clayton silks on a beautiful Belfast linen (can't remember the color right now.) I moved the words "Mother's Tree" out of the trunk of the tree and to either side. I just thought it looked better that way. Terry of "The Stitching Post" in Waynesboro, VA, did a gorgeous job on the framing...

This is definitely one of my favorite pieces, and hopefully someday it will be handed down to my daughter as a wonderful family heirloom.

I have a funny story that goes along with this piece, too. This is actually the second time I stitched this same design. The first one I did over 2 on Belfast and it was massive. I put in the last stitch, folded it up and laid it on my stitching basket before going to bed. When I woke up the next morning, it was on the floor with a BIG HOLE chewed in the middle of it! The dog had gotten hold of it for a midnight snack! I cried for days, and it was months before I could even think about starting it again. I'm so glad I did, though. And no, I didn't kill the dog! Felt like it, though! LOL

Ribbon, Ribbon!

I wanted to share the ribbon Diana and I found at the Williamsburg Pottery last weekend. You can't see it very well, but the red on the left turns gold when you move it. So elegant! And the red on the right turns blue, so it's perfect for the 4th of July. I'm a big fan of Christmas plaid, so the one in the middle is just perfect. But the neatest spool is the one on top! It looks like aida and I'm going to stitch on it!

I went to adjust the Q-Snap, caught my needle underneath and broke it! Isn't that great? So I was forced to play a game on my cell phone. OK, I didn't get any pictures last night so I swiped the ones Lola took just to show you what this beauty looks like! I'll snap some and show more views in a later post, but for now, isn't it gorgeous???

For the next few days I'm using it as a purse, but then I'll switch it over and use it as a stitching bag like Miss Lola and Diana intended. But it's just so pretty I don't want to not have it with me! LOL Even last night sofa shopping the lady at the furniture store commented on how pretty my bag is!

She made several stitching accessories to go inside as well, so I'll show you those later. I'm a very happy birthday girl all over again (without going up another year! LOL)

Diana and I met at Haus Tirol in Williamsburg for a little stash shopping and visiting on Saturday! She didn't get ANYTHING (she's too good for her own good), but I found a piece of fabric for our Neighborhood Round Robin at Tranquil Stitches. I wanted Pearled Barley, but they were out of the size I needed, so I went with my second choice of Lakeside Linen's "Lentil."

It's got just a tad of a green tint, so I think the houses will look very pretty on it, no matter what colors the girls choose.

Miss Diana also gave me my birthday present from her and Miss Lola. I am so thrilled with it! I'll take pictures this evening and share. It's the prettiest stitching bag EVER!!!

I worked on Two of Six over the weekend replacing a section I had to frog. Argh. But hopefully I can find the time to finish it up soon so I can move on to my RR.

I have to say the lacing was not as hard as I imagined it to be. I may have to try it again. But a sewer I am not, so I hope practice makes perfect.

I started "Two of Six" last night and got a right smart done already. I love those Blue Ribbon ornaments!

Belated Birthday Gift!

I had a manila envelope from Miss Jana waiting when I got home. I couldn't figure out what she could be sending me, so I was so surprised when I opened it and found a lovely birthday card along with Blue Ribbon's "Fruit Smoothie!"

What a wonderful gift! I have a lot of the Blue Ribbon gameboards, so this one goes very nicely with my collection. My TS girls are just the BEST!

Finished House #10!

Well, it's really House #3, but it's my 10th one since I started from the bottom. LOL

And this is what it looks like so far...

I really think it's cool and can't wait 'til it's finished and framed. I honestly can say I just haven't gotten bored with this piece at all, even with all the solid stitching. I just wish it would fit better on my Q-Snap! LOL
